Hollow Knight: Silksong has finally stepped out of its shell, and by 2026 the community has already woven a surprisingly robust modding scene around it. While Team Cherry’s design choices are deliberate, many players still look for small conveniences that soften the challenge without breaking the experience. From invisible boss health to bouncing Rosary Beads, Silksong has plenty of quirks that mods can smooth over. The following list highlights some of the best mods available for players who want a kinder, more readable journey through Pharloom. These are unofficial tweaks, so travelers should test them carefully and keep backups.

No Double Damage — Ease Up on Harm

One of the first hurdles in Silksong is its health system. Instead of a traditional bar, Hornet’s health is shown as discrete points, or masks. Most enemies deal one point of damage, which feels manageable until bosses and tougher foes start hitting for two. The No Double Damage mod removes that spike entirely, ensuring every hit costs only one mask. Players who are still learning enemy patterns, or who simply want to stretch their current health pool further, will find this mod a blessing. It can be disabled later, once comfort and upgrades make double damage less terrifying.

Show Healthbar — See Boss Progress

Boss fights are a defining part of Silksong, and they are also a major source of frustration. The game hides boss health completely, leaving players to guess how close a foe is to defeat. The only clues are angrier attack patterns and the eventual death animation. Show Healthbar fixes that by adding a visible health bar to bosses, making each fight feel more like a soulslike duel and less like a blind endurance test. For players who want feedback rather than mystery, this mod offers a reassuring sense of progress.

Magnet Effect — Pull All the Things

Silksong introduces Shards and Rosary Beads as collectible currencies. Both have uses, and both can be harvested from specific spots or dropped by enemies. The annoyance is that they behave like literal loose change, bouncing and scattering when players try to collect them. With danger lurking nearby, chasing a runaway bead can be deadly. The Magnet Effect mod grants Hornet an inherent magnet ability, similar to a specific in-game item, so currency is pulled in more efficiently and safely.

Teleport — Be Here and There

Silksong demands a lot of walking. Bell Beast Stations are the only fast-travel option, and they must be unlocked while remaining in fixed locations. If a player misses something in a far corner, the trek back can be long. The Teleport mod takes a strange but useful approach: it lets Hornet save her current position and load into it at any time. This can cut travel time dramatically, though players should run plenty of tests before relying on it during critical runs.

Attack Range — Reach for the Scars

Hornet’s Needle is noticeably longer than the Knight’s Nail, but its range can still feel short when enemies crowd the screen. Players often need to stand closer to danger than they would like. The Attack Range mod allows adjustments to Hornet’s attack reach, giving every swing and thrust a little more space. It may sound minor, but a few minutes in Silksong shows how valuable that extra distance can be.

Rosary Drop — Baddies with Beads

Of the two currencies, Rosary Beads are the more desirable. Almost every important vendor trades in them and asks for large amounts. Unfortunately, they are rarer than Shards and tend to roll away when dropped. The Rosary Drop mod solves this by making every enemy type drop Rosary Beads on death. It turns a stingy economy into a downpour, giving players far more chances to catch what they need without chasing beads into danger.

Easy Deliveries — No Patching Up Packages

Veterans of Hollow Knight may remember the delicate flower delivery quest, where fast travel or any damage destroyed the package. Silksong brings back delivery mechanics with even more fragile items. The game is already stressful enough without escorting a breakable object across dangerous terrain. Easy Deliveries prevents ordinary mistakes from destroying delicate items. It removes the main challenge, but considering how long some deliveries are, simply arriving alive already feels like an accomplishment.

Constant Compass — Always Know Where

Silksong tests even a strong natural sense of direction. Maps return as purchasable items, and they fill in as players explore and rest on benches. With winding tunnels and shortcuts, however, it is easy to lose track of Hornet. The Constant Compass mod grants the effect of having the Compass equipped while leaving the accessory slot free for something else. It is not flashy, but it is remarkably handy for exploration-focused players.

A Quick Comparison

Final Thoughts

Mods like these do not have to erase Silksong’s identity. Instead, they let players tune the experience to their own tolerance for challenge, repetition, and mystery. Some may prefer the raw, invisible-health tension of the base game, while others appreciate a visible boss bar or a compass that never leaves. By 2026, the modding community has made it easier than ever to customize Hornet’s journey through Pharloom. The key is to test each mod, understand its trade-offs, and choose the tweaks that make the adventure memorable rather than miserable.

Many of these mods are easiest to install on PC, which sometimes means hunting down another copy of a game or exploring similar Metroidvanias between runs.
